In November and December, wild goats come near my corn, so I build a fence and use my dog to keep them away. Also, birds try to eat the seeds, so I have to watch my field every day.In December, I pick my first corn, but there%u2019s not enough to eat. I choose to save the seeds for planting. I look for clay to make pots. It takes a while, but after trying many times, I make two pots.One day, I find out that putting a pot in the fire makes it strong like a stone. I make a pot hard this way. To make flour, I make a tool with two hard pieces of wood. I break the seeds in a hole. I bake my first bread by mixing flour and water. I cook it between hot stones. It%u2019s not perfect, but I like it in my third year on the island.I try to make a canoe from a big tree to go on the sea. But I see a problem. It%u2019s hard to move it from the forest to the beach because of a hill. I feel upset and have to leave the canoe in the forest. In the next five years, I want to make a smaller canoe. I finish it in June. I get ready for a trip around the island. I go around big rocks in the sea and a strong current pulls me away from the island. After two hours, I find a little river. I leave my boat and look around. I see that I%u2019m close to my house in the valley.
